Design
Design is a course focused on teaching students Design Thinking and the process of using the design cycle. Design Thinking is the process that engineers and designers use to solve problems.
Students in this course apply design thinking to a variety of problems in order to develop basic skills in many different areas which include graphic design, coding, engineer, construction skills, computer aided drawing, artificial intelligence (AI) and other skills which are developed in different units.
This allows students to explore different areas of STEM technologies while at the same time discovering technologies they might be interested in the future. No matter what the unit, students use Design Thinking to solve specific problems. By the end of their high school experience students should be very proficient in the application of Design Thinking to solve new problems as well as use the skills they developed to help them during their postsecondary school experiences.
