Scope of Responsibility:
As an IB MYP digital design teacher, the primary role is to maximize student learning and development by planning, preparing, and teaching the curriculum to meet student's individual learning needs and achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers teach a range of student abilities and classes and are accountable for effectively delivering their curriculum. The MYP digital design teacher focuses on skills such as graphics/media, programming, spreadsheets, and databases, along with creating products using tools such as 3D printers and other common workshop tools.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare course objectives, lesson plans, and SGO, Subject Group Overviews for the course of study following the IB MYP framework.

Needs to follow the MYP framework by using the Design cycle to teach and assess students

Contribute to the community life of the school and enrich the program with creative and innovative practices.

Prepare and distribute learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes.

Source the resources and supplies needed for lessons.

Create and administer assessments to evaluate students' progress

Employ classroom management practices, including establishing and enforcing student expectations, with basic disciplinary strategies for the creation of an effective teaching and learning environment

Use technology in the classroom to enhance learning.

Keep up-to-date with developments in their subject areas, teaching resources, and strategies and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.

Be involved in extracurricular activities in the school. Each teacher is required to commit to several activities during the school year.

Regularly communicate with parents and legal guardians regarding child’s performance, track, and record student progress, and keep records up to date for progress reports and report card conferences.

Review curriculum needs, execute improvement plans, and provide tutoring and additional support.

Attend school events to better understand student interests and personalities outside the regular classroom, build strong relationships with your students, and strengthen their self-confidence while inspiring them to achieve high goals.

Follow the Code of Conduct in the Child Protection Policy.

Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
-
Bachelor's degree and above from an accredited college or university in education or related field.

IB MYP experience is an asset.
-
Experience with coding languages
-
Demonstrated ability to employ a wide variety of teaching techniques, including utilization of technology.

Collaborative, energetic teacher with demonstrated creativity and passion for teaching.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong professional relationships with students, colleagues, administration, and parents.
