IB MYP

The International Baccalaureate®(IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a framework which is inclusive and flexible in nature. It allows MYP schools to integrate national and international curricula to help students explore relevant content.

The MYP offers eight subject groups including language and literature, language acquisition, mathematics, individuals and societies, sciences, design, visual arts/performance arts(music) and physical and health education subject groups through disciplinary and interdisciplinary units provi ding concurrency of learning.

The inquiry-based teaching and learning model emphasises student agency and helps students develop critical thinking, problem-solving and research skills while exploring real-life situations. These approaches allow students agency and meaningfully connect classroom learning to real life.

Sias International School is a Candidate School* for the MYP Programme.  This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that Sias International School believes is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).
